Well, I'm past the halfway point of the LAN and to be honest, I don't want it to end.
I arrived on Thursday evening about 7pm and was setup and online quite quickly and got settled into a game of TF2. The official opening ceremony was at 9pm before a HUGE game of TF2 with DaftChip and myself camping as heavies outside the blue spawn. Cry Some More!!

Over the rest of the night there was games of Quake 3 Arena, Trackmania and plenty of Alien Storm. I eventually crashed out around 04:30 ....
.... to wake up on Friday morning at 06:20 busting for a pee. Arrrgghh!! Managed to get some more sleep until 9 when I had a shower and then breakfast from the van parked outside the main grandstand. £4.50 for a full English (Sorry Korpanyne, no haggis!

) breakfast isn't bad considering they come to us.
On Friday the Epic Hunt started. Lots of cryptic questions ... but I gave up and went back to gaming playing HL2:DM, Scorched 3D, UT2004 and BF2 before the Om Non Nom BBQ that the Epic guys laid on. Hmm, I love the smell of burning steak while sitting at my keyboard. Late into the night there was a big game of CS:S Fun Maps, TF2 and me spending money at the Kustom PC stall. Oops! I finally hit the sack around 02:30.
At least I managed to stay asleep until 9am this morning before another big breakfast. Bloody Steam had released a massive L4D2 patch overnight which screwed everyones connection. Luckily, one person managed to get the update and upload it to the Epic FTP server so we could all update from this and then authenticate correctly. At 11am there was a big game of Trackmania before I entered the Wii Mario Kart tournament, only to be knocked out by a girl!
And that's where I'm up to now. Just been to resuply with water, jaffa cakes and other sundried from Tesco and I'm looking forward to some Armagedtron at 5pm before the pub quiz at 8pm and the boat race drinking game. Looking at what to order in for tea, curry or pizza? I'll post some picures when I'm back home.
If you've never been to a LAN, do it! I'm 43, married for 19 years, have three kids and this LAN is my escape from everything. Give it a try!
