This clan started with CZ when it first came out, most of the old timers here have it, but it died a slow painful death so we called it a day.

I would be up for a bit of nostalgia play though!

I think, looking at join dates in the Roster section, I was the first member to join who didn't have CZ - all the people before me probably have it, as well as the cool people below me - and eventually I'll get the CS pack on Steam XD

Yep that's right you are our very first tf2 recruite, before that there was a year and a half and about £ 400,- worth of completely empty cz server.

we can by all means gatecrash someone elses public server, have no objection there

a cz server is not really viable at the moment, there are a good few reasons for this.
the major ones i can think of are that:

A: unless we ourselfs play on it 24/7 to keep interest there will be no respectable players on the server, maybee a few wierdos from time to time but generally it will just be empty

B: valve no longer put good support to the game, issues that are there or that crop up will likely never be fixed. / very little new content or exciting features will occur, even from 3rd partys

C: the Clans funds are dedicated towards keeping the 2 TF2 servers and the website alive.

D: a cz server is no cheaper in cost than a server for a modern game such as bfbc2 or mw2
(assuming said games have server support)

E: still plenty of empty servers out there.

TY for that Cheesy but thats why i put a poll up before i got a server Cheesy if nobody is interestd in CZ i would get a TF2 WAR server Cheesy (feels sorry for the peeps that have to leave the server for a war) Wink

No offense, but I kinda see renting a server as a job for the CL's / DCL's. If everybody just goes out to get their own servers it will all go tits up eventually. I know I'm not exactly the right person to say this as I went out to get the TF2 server in the past, but somehow that was different.  Tongue

we got the second server as overflow for the main server and also as a match server, it is still fairly under used despite filling up at peak times, the people who have to leave due to a match can always join again after it is finished, got to agree with wally too really as well

Indeed a CZ night would be something to do, and indeed plenty servers out there.

A CZ server is not an idea at the moment though, mainly due to the small number of people playing it in NT at the moment. If it gains interest then indeed we could re-invest in CZ. Equally, if interest in general increases enough we could look at renting a dedicated box and then put a CZ server up if we wanted with no extra monetary obligations.

Hi all not sure if this is the right place to post this but........i'm back on CZ (not played on line for a few years now) so if there is a pc/fun night give me a shout but i will be dropping by the forum on a regular bases.Good to see alot of the old faces still here (yeah that would be u booooomsta  Kiss) and look forward to meeting the rest over the coarse of time.Laters Van
